My name is Thomas K. Greer and I grew up watching videos on MTV. As far back as I can remember, passion for music has always been part of my life. Bands like The Hives, The White Stripes, and The Sonic had a great influence on me.
When I turned 18, I started organizing events in small venues for local garage bands to gather and play their music. This movement grew quickly and I was able to organize bigger events with a capacity of 3,000 people.
I am currently the manager of several garage bands in Canada and my interest in supporting the garage culture movement and music continues to grow.
That’s why I decided to start The Oh Wells, a blog to share this passion with more people in Canada and around the world. In addition, I want to make connections, meet bands from other countries, and keep the spirit of garage music alive.
In this blog, I will share interesting information about the most recent releases and the garage music bands that are currently playing. I will also share tips on getting started in the world of event management, getting promoters to believe in their projects and how to manage a garage music band.
The world moves at a fast speed and so do people’s tastes. As new music genres, movies, fashion, and trends emerge, people’s tastes change dramatically, and what was playing yesterday may no longer be important today.
Garage music has had its day, and because of these fast changes, it is no longer as popular as it once was. However, many bands around the world keep the spirit of this music, creating new sounds and mixing them to the classic rhythms of garage music.
For that reason, this blog is dedicated to you. To people like you and me who maintain a love for the timeless classic sound of garage music. The Oh Wells is that space you were waiting for to meet people around the world with the same interests.
